Pictures from our deployment to Louisiana: Bedtime- The second night of all this was in a hangar at Pease. There were lots of bugs there after dark. My pro-mask (for some reason, we were told to bring them) is acting as a pillow. It's not very good at it, but it's all it's good for. Blowout- At NAS (Naval Air Station) New Orleans. The panels worked fine. Bus- From the armory to Pease. 1- L to R- Carver, Giles, Bezio. 2- Back to front, L to R- LeBlanc, Armstrong, States, Diaz, Carver. Cargo- At NAS New Orleans. We unloaded our stuff onto this truck. It took off and we walked to the grass to wait for a bus to take us where we needed to be. Door- The cargo door of the KC-135 we came down on. Firearms- Who's going to stop me? Note the shiny clip above my finger. We had to install those tabs before we left the NAS. They prevent the selector switch from rotating to burst. Louisiana didn't want out of staters running around with automatic weapons. Flags- At the middle school we stayed at. Someone put up a NH flag, then they found the US and Louisiana flags that normally flew there and added them. Haircut- It was hot and the news made it look like I'd be wearing my helmet the whole time, so I got "the usual." Hangar- It's more like a carport for airplanes, but I guess "airport" was already taken. There were a bunch of these hangars at the NAS, and each one had a unit staged in it. 3 looks like it's a long sink, but it's just metal bars. Houston- When I woke up in the morning at the NAS, it looked like every school bus in Houston was there. Jack- Stansfield has a knack for finding photo ops. Lizard- Yes, it's live. Parrotto found a lizard that doubles as an earring. Looting- It's bigger than my TV at home. Parking lot- At the school we stayed at. The generator has a coffee maker mounted. Pease- In 1, Diaz and States use 550 cord to fix their slings. In 2, Carver, Austin, Armstrong and LeBlanc wait. You can see some people already have the new "ACU" uniform. Recruiters, mainly. Planes- The traffic volume at the NAS was incredible. Room- This was the classroom that my squad was put in. School- We stayed at the T.H. Harris Middle school in Jefferson Parish and worked in that area. Sign- Our first morning at the school, Dineen got to work early on by telling the locals what was going on. Stripes- Craig Stansfield, of Iraq fame, sporting his new rank. Unloading- NAS New Orleans was so crowded that we were lucky to have room to land. Forget about air-stairs. We had to climb down the crew ladder and have our weapons handed down to us.S
