Pics from November: ASO Maintenance- Some of the truck's fluids need to be checked when they're up to temperature, so we get them when we've set up an OP. Break- Charlie team and Nate taking 5. British- We linked up with a British patrol. Hazen taught them how to use the MK-19. Charlie- Charlie Team while refueling at Scania on the way back from Baghdad. Cookies- SGT Jones' wife sent them out. Emond is on the SAW. Dolphin- This can was at the IP checkpoint by the port entrance. The biggest question is: is it tuna safe dolphin? FNX- Martha Jo had a great on-air conversation with WFNX's morning show. They sent me a care package of CDs. They put these shots up on their web site, too. Hazen- Iraqi construction is quite rickety. Hazen thought that he could knock down a wall in the ruins with his helmet. He couldn't, and needed a few minutes to collect himself. Helmet head- Nate's hair is a little long to be wearing a helmet all day long. Hill- It's not a very big hill (it's bigger than it looks here, though), but it's all we've got. Stansfield is a Jeep guy back home, so he couldn't resist. IP checkpoint- Marchand, Stansfield and the other McCarthy at the IP checkpoint on ASR Maui. IPs- Keeping warm at the IP checkpoint on ASR Sioux Falls. Marchand- Smoking a cigar. Mud- It actually rained again! Needless to say, the ground can't really handle water. There was an ugly stretch of road and we needed the wipers halfway through. Muddy ninja- Hazen hadn't planned on getting dirty that day. Stansfield laughed at him until he got reminded that the SAW is his. OP- Stansfield wanted a better vantage point. Plate- On the humvee at Scania. Portable- KBR only wants to load water that it can move. Puppies- Stansfield and Walters making friends. Red Sox- Beecher was in our truck for that convoy, and he decorated the truck, too. Sunset- Southbound, between Cedar 2 and Bucca. Tag- Someone from our company got one of the walls in the rubble at the Alamo. This was within the last couple of months and it's already fallen apart more. Tank- The MK-19 hitting the tank. Train- Iraqi engineers decorate their cabs the same way the truckers do. Well- We spent the day with the British patrol showing them around our area- like where not to drive at night.
